Performance index sorts vehicles to groups called "classes", based on their calculated performance, determined by power-to-weight ratio. It is represented by performance points, abbreviated as "PP".

- In the earliest alpha version of the early access there were only two classes, named Class 1 & Class 2.
- With the addition of American Sedan, Class 3 was introduced.
- With the addition of American Muscle 2, Class 3 was removed.
- With the addition of European Coupe, Classes 1 and 2 were replaced with classes C and B.
- With the addition of Lawn Mower, class D was introduced.
- The class borders had changed multiple times throughout the early access stage of development.
- The peak of class B was 220 PP during the beta stage.
